Born and raised in Beijing, J is a nonbinary multidisciplinary artist who moved to the US 10 years ago. “My world view is frequently challenged and always changing. I am always exploring alternative ways to express myself. I never forget my roots and look back at the life I had before. When creating art, I love to give my own twist on the two worlds together and tell my stories that way.”

J studied fashion before making 3D digital art. “I am into 90s and ‘00s Japanese fashion, cyber Goth, punk Goth, Harajuku, Gothic Lolita style and I’m a big fan of vintage rave wear that is very retro futuristic. I am not making clothes anymore, but I still love fashion deeply and show it in my digital work. All the characters I have created resemble me. I like to think of them as different versions of me, or my different personalities. I love spreading positive energy and love while showing the world that side of me through my work.”
