I’m proud to be American and of the many ways in which we are coming together to protect our communities. Still, it’s not always easy to see the good when there is just so much struggle, confusion and disarray. “Tragedy” is a word that really illustrates so much of what we, as a nation, as a global community, and as individuals are facing right now. More than ever, in these last months, I’ve been moved by pieces of art that exemplify the complexity of our current reality. This piece that @banksy recently shared really struck a chord with me. While it’s encouraging to see our #healthcareheroes so celebrated and embraced - as they should be - the child’s innocence so beautifully depicted here almost serves as a call to action, as well. The responsibility is on each of us to continue doing our part - protecting ourselves and one another; particularly, those more vulnerable among us. Our work is not done. Let’s not lose hope, focus, patience, or sight of what’s possible when we work together. As we move forward and reopen, let’s take care to remember that each careful action and precaution we take - no matter how small - is heroic in its own way.」5月16日 6時25分
